Member of Making Music
Katharina founded the Lucy Cavendish Singers in October 2008. The choir is made up of twelve to sixteen singers drawn from the students, fellows and alumnae of Lucy Cavendish College as well as from other University colleges and departments and the wider community. The Singers perform regularly both privately in College and in public performances in Cambridge.
The choir is trained to sing from memory, which fosters a powerful esprit de corps. This in turn creates a strong connection with the audience as all the choir’s energy is directed to sharing the music with the listeners.
Each programme is designed by Katharina to suit the venue and occasion whilst at the same time displaying the talents of the singers and accompanying musicians.
The singers’ voices are individual and distinctive. In solos and small ensembles this permits a wide range of musical styles; together the singers produce a powerful, compelling and unique sound.
